The Beginning
How IMPACT Began
In the mid-2000s, Dr. Sudha Sinha was working at MNJ Institute of Oncology — one of the largest government cancer centres in Hyderabad. She saw, every day, what happened to children with cancer from families who could not afford treatment. They came once, maybe twice, and then they stopped coming.
Treatment abandonment — the term that appears in medical literature — was the rule, not the exception. For every child who finished treatment, several others disappeared because the cost of the next dose was simply beyond what their families could manage.
In 2008, she founded IMPACT. She did not wait for funding, for buildings, or for official recognition. She started with a small unit inside MNJ, thirteen beds, and the conviction that every child deserved the same chance regardless of what their parents earned.

What IMPACT Does Today
IMPACT is a registered non-governmental organisation providing completely free cancer treatment to children from families who cannot afford care. Every child receives the same standard of treatment — regardless of their family's financial situation.

The centre is staffed by a full-time paediatric oncologist and paediatrician. Dr. Sudha Sinha — founder remains actively involved in governance and in treatment planning for each child.
